Alternatives to YouTube monetization: a second income from the videos you already have
Updated 24.09.2026 · Kostas Obuchow
When YouTube monetization is off, not yet reached or pays cents, the videos themselves are still an asset. Four ways to earn from the same library through Facebook — Content Monetization, Creator Fast Track, a revenue-share network, direct deals — with the requirements, who each fits and the risks.
Short answer
An alternative to YouTube monetization is not another platform instead of YouTube, but a second income from the same videos. Your own videos can be posted on Facebook without breaking any rule: Meta counts what you produced as original.
There are four routes through Facebook, and they differ in who can take them:
Content Monetization on your own page: by invitation, only if you live in an eligible country;
Creator Fast Track: from 20,000 followers on YouTube, only in the US, Canada, the UK and Australia;
publishing on a page that already has monetization, under a revenue share;
direct deals with brands, which do not depend on either programme.
We write about Facebook because that is what we measure on our own network.
The videos are the asset, not the channel
A YouTube author usually thinks about the channel: subscribers, watch hours, the Partner Program. When monetization is off or has not been reached, it feels like the work is lost.
But the videos keep their value. A library of a hundred videos that has earned nothing on YouTube can earn on Facebook, because Facebook shows videos to people who do not follow you, and pays for views, not for the channel’s status.
The condition is that the videos really are yours and nobody posted them on Facebook before you. More in the YouTube-to-Facebook breakdown.
Four routes through Facebook
1. Content Monetization on your own page. Facebook’s main programme. It pays for reels, photos, stories and text posts. There is no application: entry is by invitation, and you must live in an eligible country, with your financial accounts there too. The list has 70 countries, including India, the Philippines, Indonesia, Nigeria, Ukraine and Poland; Pakistan, Vietnam, Russia and Belarus are not on it. How invitations come is in how to get monetization.
2. Creator Fast Track. Built for creators from other platforms. From 20,000 followers on YouTube, Instagram or TikTok and 30,000 video views in 60 days, with no Facebook reels in the last six months, you get immediate access to monetization and a guaranteed payment for three months. Only for creators based in the US, Canada, the UK and Australia. Its content rule suits a YouTube author exactly: “original and not previously posted on Facebook”.
3. Publishing on a page with monetization, under a revenue share. Your videos are published by a page that already has access, and the revenue is split under a contract. This route does not require an invitation, a follower count or residency in an eligible country from you, because the page is not yours. Your rights to the videos stay with you.
4. Direct deals with brands. Sponsorships and integrations are not tied to either programme’s country list. A Facebook audience increases what you can offer an advertiser.

Five checks that save months:
Are copies of your videos already on Facebook? If a re-uploader got there first, your upload is the second copy.
Is the file clean? The original export, without other apps’ watermarks or interfaces.
Which videos go first? New ones at the same time as on YouTube; the back catalogue after checking for copies.
Which language? On Facebook, language sets the audience’s country, and country sets the rate. The gap between languages in our network is 53 times. See Facebook RPM by country.
Short or long? Short videos compete with Shorts on rate; long ones earn more on YouTube. See Facebook vs YouTube.

WHICH CASE IS YOURS
YouTube monetization is off in your country — routes 3 and 4 do not depend on the programmes’ country lists.
You have not reached the Partner Program thresholds — Facebook pays for views, not for channel status.
You have 20,000+ followers and live in the US, Canada, the UK or Australia — Creator Fast Track is the fastest.
You live in one of the 70 eligible countries — Content Monetization is available, but only by invitation.
Your Shorts earn cents — on Facebook short videos pay in the same range or higher.
