TikTok pays creators in 8 countries, Facebook in 70: where your vertical videos can earn

TikTok's Creator Rewards Program is open in eight countries. Facebook Content Monetization covers seventy, including India, the Philippines, Indonesia, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Egypt and Kenya. Which countries each covers, what the rates look like there, why a TikTok file with a watermark gets flagged on Facebook, and how to move vertical videos properly.

Short answer

TikTok’s Creator Rewards Program is open in eight countries: the US, the UK, Germany, Japan, South Korea, France, Mexico and Brazil.

Facebook Content Monetization covers seventy. Among them are India, the Philippines, Indonesia, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Egypt, Kenya, Ghana, Turkey, Colombia, Argentina, Ukraine and Poland, where TikTok pays creators nothing.

So for most short-form creators in the world, TikTok gives the audience, and Facebook can give money for the same videos. Two caveats: Facebook entry is by invitation, and in many of these countries the rate per view is low.

The one thing that ruins the move is a file downloaded from TikTok with its watermark. Facebook reads that as a video “recycled from other apps”.

Where TikTok pays

Per TikTok’s Creator Academy, updated in August 2026, the Creator Rewards Program is open to creators in the US, the UK, Germany, Japan, South Korea, France, Mexico and Brazil. You must be based in one of these countries and have the account registered there.

Other requirements:

• 18 or older, personal account only;
• 10,000 followers and 100,000 views in the last 30 days;
• videos of at least one minute.

The old Creator Fund closed in December 2023. Claims about new countries “by the end of 2026” circulate on blogs but do not match TikTok’s official list.

Where Facebook pays

Meta’s official list for Content Monetization has 70 countries and territories. All eight TikTok countries are on it, plus 62 more across Asia, Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, Europe and Oceania.

Conditions:

• invitation only: there is no application button;
• you must live in an eligible country, and the financial accounts linked to the account must be there too;
• the page must have an established presence of at least 30 days;
• reels earn from 10 seconds long.

Two large creator countries are not on Facebook’s list: Pakistan and Vietnam. Nor are Russia, Belarus or Kazakhstan.

Country by country

Large short-form creator countries, by the official lists as of September 2026:

Be realistic about the rate. Facebook pays for views, and the price of a view depends on the viewers’ country. In our own network the gap between the best- and worst-paying language was 53 times; Portuguese-language pages, which mostly reach Brazil, earned $0.02 per thousand views, Spanish-language ones $0.06. An English-language video from India or the Philippines is often seen mostly by viewers in cheap markets. Details in Facebook RPM by country.

Low per view does not mean zero. For a creator whose TikTok pays nothing at all, it is a second income from videos that already exist.

The watermark trap

Meta’s advice to creators says it directly:

Avoid using visible third party watermarks and content that is visibly recycled from other apps or sources.

A video saved from TikTok carries the TikTok logo and your handle in the frame, and sometimes the ending card. Meta also lists “inserting logos or graphics, including watermarks” among the minor changes that mark content as unoriginal.

So a video that is entirely yours, uploaded from a TikTok download, looks like someone else’s repost.

How to move TikTok videos to Facebook

1. Upload the original export from your editor, not a download from TikTok.
2. Remove TikTok interface elements if they were burned in: stickers, captions in TikTok’s style, the ending card.
3. Check that nobody reposted your videos to Facebook before you. If someone did, your upload becomes the second copy. More in how Facebook detects unoriginal content.
4. Keep the length that holds attention. Reels earn from 10 seconds; TikTok’s one-minute minimum does not apply.
5. Think about language, not only views. On Facebook the language of the video decides which country sees it, and the country sets the rate.

If you do not have an invitation yet, or live outside the eligible countries, the videos can go out on a page that already has monetization, under a revenue share.
